Two cryptolesbian characters appear in the american TV series Charlie’s Angels, season 3 episode 4.
Let’s see how they are crypto lesbians. Eve le Deux is writing her memoirs as a famous actress, and all of Hollywood is afraid of the revelations she might make. As if by chance, Eve is found electrocuted in the jacuzzi of a luxury fitness center called « Springtime », where she was staying. But her dangerous writings are nowhere to be found.
Her niece comes to request the services of the Townsend agency to solve what appears to her to be a murder. Sabrina, Kelly and Kris will go to the crime scene, in this institution reserved for women (very rich women), where they are all dressed in pink, to do sports, sauna, and receive massages and shrink sessions. Men are forbidden, and for the employees, there is a strong discipline, under the leadership of Ingrid Nyberg. Not surprisingly, when there is a technical problem women may call men, which allows Bosley to enter undercover.
Kris pretends to be a disco-fitness coach. She quickly meets Zora Stattford, the physiotherapist. Zora is a big and tall woman.
She is immediately quite a bully, threatening, a real watchdog in the gym room.
Meanwhile, Sabrina assumes the role of a dietician, and Kelly is supposed to be a client of the institution, who is to recover from her painful divorce. The Doctor Slavin appears to be cold, distant, a little condescending. She uses hypnosis to treat women against their problems with men. Let’s just say she tries to disgust women with men, she speasks a little misandring speech. Slavin finds Kelly very pretty, and she all of a sudden wants to listen to her heart with her stethoscope, in a concupiscent way, which makes Kelly very uncomfortable.
Later in the day, this blitz investigation brings suspicion on a resident, an actress called Norma, linked to Zora, to whom Zora will confess that, with all the money she and Slavin have extorted from their rich clients, blackmailing them, they both planned to escape to Mexico or Brazil.
In this episode, which takes place over a day, Zora and Slavin appear together for just a second, in a dinner scene. But despite this precaution, which avoids giving clues about the true nature of their relationship, they nevertheless appear as a lesbian couple.
The lgbition is obviously not very positive : Zora is a vindictive woman, a butch, she knock out Kris in a fight. And Slavin is a cold and machiavellian. They’re both dangerous criminals.
But, I won’t spoil the end ;-)
